POSITIONS

GOVERNMENT LIABILITY/LABOR & EMPLOYMENT DEFENSE ATTORNEY

MRR is a leading public sector defense firm in the State of Ohio. Our Civil Rights & Government Liability team consists of attorneys who have practiced almost exclusively in the civil rights area for their entire careers, including several former assistant law directors and prosecutors. MRR represents insurance carriers, self-insured public entities, joint self-insurance pools, third-party administrators and managing general agents on the complex liability issues facing public agencies.

Our Labor and Employment attorneys counsel and represent public and private companies, and public sector entities across the entire spectrum of labor and employment issues, including lawsuits and administrative proceedings that arise from federal employment laws such as Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN), as well as their statutory counterparts under Ohio law. Our attorneys provide representation in all federal and state courts, and before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and Department of Labor.

Due to the expansion and complexity of our case files, we are actively recruiting to grow our Civil Rights & Government Liability and Labor & Employment practice groups. A successful candidate will have no less than 1 to 3 years of civil litigation practice. Candidates with greater experience are also encouraged to apply. Experience with government immunity defenses would be a significant advantage.

  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, courts and opposing counsel.
